About Your Instructor
Transcendental Meditation Instructor, Trinidad and Tobago 1978-1998
Ruffina Farrokh Anklesaria was trained by His Holiness
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi as a teacher of his Transcendental Meditation (TM)
program in 1978. She had the joy of meeting Maharishi personally many
times from 1985, and getting his personal guidance. She taught "full-time" in the TM movement in Trinidad
and Tobago and co-chaired the organization there from 1985 to 1997. Ruffina was, at the same time, Executive Secretary to the Ambassador of
Japan at the Embassy of Japan in Port of Spain (1979-1998). When Maharishi realized
that Ruffina spent all of her waking hours fully committed to his
movement, he told her to always consider herself "full-time" with the
movement and part-time with the Embassy. She taught hundreds of people
to meditate, including one of the First Ladies of the Republic of
Trinidad and Tobago, and the Mother Superior of the Carmelite nuns at St
Jude's School for Girls in Trinidad. She represented her country at many
international forums as co-leader of the national TM organization. She
was part of the project that brought meditation to several thousand
people in The Philippines at the invitation of the Government there.
Migrated to the United States, 1999
In 1999, Ruffina migrated to the United States to join her late husband, Farrokh K. Anklesaria, Esq., in St Louis, Missouri. Farrokh was a barrister-at-law, a British-trained attorney, who practiced family law in England. After learning TM in England, he became a complete devotee of Maharishi's and devoted himself to his service. He lived at Maharishi's ashram in India for many years and was specially trained by him to be the world's leading expert in introducing TM to the judiciary, and in implementing consciousness-based rehabilitation programs in penal institutions and in criminal settings. He traveled the world as Maharishi's representative and met with nine Heads of State on his behalf. He directed a very successful program for offender rehabilitation in the West African State of Senegal, where 12,000 prisoners were instructed in meditation at the invitation of the government there. This project was made into a documentary and a book was written on it. Farrokh instructed over 4,000 persons in meditation and implemented projects around the world for the instruction of over 35,000 inmates, offenders, probation and parole officers and staff members at correctional facilities around the world.
Project Manager/Director, The Enlightened Sentencing Project, 2000-2013
Farrokh also founded The Enlightened Sentencing
Project in 1997, a nonprofit organization, in St Louis, Missouri, to
teach meditation to offenders. Offenders were sentenced by the courts in
St Louis, and in Jerseyville, Illinois, to practice the Transcendental
Stress Management program. Ruffina became the TESP's Project Manager and
worked side by side with Farrokh to fulfill the specific goal given to
Farrokh by his spiritual Master, Maharishi, in the field of
Ruffina graduated with an Advanced Certificate in

Corporate Wellness Training for
Shaktipat - Sharing the Light
Around 1991, Ruffina had a life-changing spiritual
event when her third eye was opened in a burst of light. It altered her
perception of the world, giving her the ability see the world as if it
were a celestial box of resplendent jewels. She is able to perceive
objects and people down to the light value. This has given her
remarkable capabilities, including the ability to transmit the
experience to others. This she does at her Shaktipat Retreats. It has
opened up a whole new world of love and light for her; love for her
fellowman, and light pouring out of her, visible at Shaktipat Retreats.
Poet, Author and Publisher
Ruffina is also a poet, author and publisher. Her first book of poetry, "Kavita - Poems of Light and Communion" is available on Amazon.com.
Her second book (not poetry), "Points of Light - A Memoir of Extraordinary Spiritual Experiences," will soon be released.
Following the death of Mike Brown on 8 9 14, Ruffina became a peace activist and spokesperson for Ferguson. She was interviewed on local, national and international media and was a city volunteer. She now writes for the local newspaper, the "Ferguson Times". Her column is called "The Best of Ferguson."
Ruffina is a proud patriot and became a naturalized citizen of the United States of America in 2005. She also loves her native land, Trinidad and Tobago.
She is mother of two daughters, Julee Devina and Anahita.
